Fibers/Crafts Presents 'SLANT,' the Annual Wearable Art Costume Show
December 2, 2010
SLANT, the Fibers program/Crafts department's annual experimental costume show, will feature live garment-based performances exhibited by students in the Introduction to Experimental Costume and Performance class from the Fibers, Metals, Sculpture, Animation and Dance programs. The visually stunning show allows students from all artistic and creative backgrounds to craft their own wearable "work of art."
SLANT will take place on Tuesday, December 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. in Hamilton Hall's Solmssen Court (320 South Broad Street).
The Introduction to Experimental Costume and Performance course is open to all majors and has attracted students from nearly every department at the University of the Arts throughout the years. The class also provides an opportunity for makers to produce object-based performance, and for performers and media artists to focus on creating wearable, performative art objects.
