'Mediterraneo' on Display in Gallery 224 and Printmaking Gallery
Printmaking/Book Arts exhibit by Spanish artist collective Portales del Arte is running concurrently in Spain as part of cultural exchange

"Mediterráneo," an exhibition by Spanish artist collective Portales del Arte, will be on display at the University of the Arts from October 29 to November 6 at Gallery 224 and the Printmaking Gallery in Anderson Hall, located at 333 South Broad Street, Philadelphia. Both galleries are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The exhibition features prints, paintings, drawings and sculptures by 10 Portales del Arte artists working in several mediums. The group's first exhibition in the United States, "Mediterráneo" praises and embraces the conceptual and expressive meeting points shared by artists and writers of various cultures working in many different mediums.
The exhibit is part of a travel exhibition exchange between the Spanish collective based in Lorca, Spain, and the Printmaking/Book Arts community from the University of the Arts. As part of this exchange, "Landing Place," an exhibition by University of the Arts Printmaking/Book Arts faculty, will be on display at Villa Huerto Ruano in Lorca through November 18. During the exhibitions, the artists will travel to each other's hometowns to partake in a cultural exchange.
Portales del Arte will be visiting Philadelphia October 30 – November 6 and will attend an artist reception being held November 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
