The UArts Cantina, an independently owned and operated cafeteria, is located on the bottom floor of Hamilton Hall. The Cantina is the dining facility for students, faculty, and staff of The University of the Arts. The Cantina specializes in wholesome, nutritious food prepared fresh daily on the premises. In addition to the Cantina, the Cantina Express is located on the second floor of the Terra Building (at Broad and Walnut Streets). This spot provides a quick stop for students to grab a meal or snack on the go.

The Menu
There are a wide variety of menu items from which to choose, including vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast menu, which may be cooked to order, ranges from bagels and spreads to egg sandwiches, omelets, and platters. Also available are a wide range of baked goods, fresh fruit, a selection of juices, yogurts, and coffee.

The lunch/dinner menu includes deli sandwiches and wraps, salads, and fresh oven roasted meats. From the grill students can choose from steak sandwiches, burgers, veggie burgers, grilled cheese and hot dogs. Southwest specialties include chicken fajita, tacos, and taco salads. Daily specials vary from international theme meals to meatloaf.

The Cantina also provides a diverse selection of specialty beverages, desserts, and snack items.

Purchasing Meals and Approximate Costs
Meals can be purchased with cash or through a pre-paid computerized card system, called FreedomPay®. The FreedomPay® card is offered to students through an outside vendor and detailed information about the card and how to obtain it will be mailed to families upon registration.

We recommend that all students obtain a FreedomPay® card in a denomination which best suits them to purchase meals and snacks. Unused funds are refundable and parents can track usage on-line.

For meals outside of Cantina hours, students can go to local eateries, which provide affordable meals and a range of fare from pizza to chinese to vegetarian; students will be provided a list of these establishments, a price range, and maps when they arrive on campus.
