Art Education Department
The Visual Arts classes of the Saturday Arts Lab are affiliated with the Art Education Department at The University of the Arts and are designed as a model program in which artists/teachers serve as mentors for young, developing artists. All Arts Lab Teachers are exemplary art educators who are also practicing artists. Arts Lab class sizes are limited to facilitate individualized teacher instruction and studentteacher interaction. Additional instructional assistance is provided by student teachers from the Art Education Department, which gives the young artists attending the classes greater one-on-one attention and mentoring than is available in the traditional classroom environment.
