The Results from a Memory-Based Drawing Game
The visual equivalent of the childhood game "Whisper Down the Lane." Thirty books, each containing 45 blank pages, were distributed to 30 artists/players gathered in a circle. Each player was given two minutes to make a simple drawing on the first page, the subject matter of which was entirely up to them. The books then rotated to the right around the circle. Players had 10 seconds to memorize the drawing in front of them before flipping the page and attempting to recreate the drawing in one minute - without referring to the preceding image. The "memorize, recreate and pass to the right" cycle was repeated until every page in every book was filled. This resulted in a visible progression of a player's initial drawing through the memories of each and every player in the game, in each book. The exercise produced 1,300 drawings in the span of less than two hours.

The Best Man
UArts School of Theater Arts Silver Season production
In this Gore Vidal work, a major political party descends on Philadelphia to select its presidential candidate at its national convention. In this fight for power, charges of mental instability and homosexuality are used as leverage as the two leading candidates battle their way to the nomination. In a year of national elections, the intrigue and ethics of politics played out in The Best Man will make for a fascinating, pertinent dramatic discussion.
