This is a demonstration/visitation/studio
course directed at the problems of exhibit production, the choice of materials
and methods, costs, and the interface between designers and external or
staff suppliers of materials and services. The student will learn to appropriately
choose and accurately communicate the choices of materials technology
and production and installation techniques utilized in the design of exhibitions.
They will be introduced to the range of suppliers and services, including
display fabricators, providers of museum conservation, security, evaluation,
and program services through behind-the-scenes visitations and discussions
with those directly concerned.
