Information for Faculty and Staff

Tutoring is available free of charge to all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of the Arts.

We offer tutoring in writing and general academic skills for all courses as well as tutoring in specific courses (for instance  Drawing, Voice and Speech for Actors, Music Theory, Ballet, to name a few). A student must be registered for a course in order to receive tutoring in it, as tutoring is designed to supplement and enhance classroom instruction. If you have questions about the offerings in tutoring, please contact us.

Would you like to recommend tutoring for one of your students?
You can:

  • Complete a CARE Report for student concerns in the UArts Portal . Select "Tutoring/Academic Support" as the issue and check "Recommend Tutoring" in the form. Students will receive an email letter from the Center with your recommendation and information on scheduling.
  • Call or email C. Blanca Gonzalez at 215.717.6820 or cgonzalez@uarts.edu

Would you like to recommend an excellent student to work as a Peer Tutor?

For more information on the Peer Tutor position check out our Peer Tutoring staff.
(Please note that all students who are recommended may not be  immediately hired unless we have an opening on the staff.)

Faculty are welcome at any time to contact the Advising Center if you have questions or concerns regarding your students in tutoring. The Advising Center retains electronic records for all students who receive advising and tutoring. You are also welcome to get in touch with your student’s tutor to discuss your student’s progress or to suggest areas for improvement. Call or email us and we will put you in touch with your student’s tutor.
