Exposed Lecture Series: Revolutionary Alphabets

Presented by the Graphic Design program, featuring Ben Kiel and Ken Barber who will present "Revolutionary Alphabets: Bringing Photo-Lettering to the 21st Century."

Ben Kiel is a typeface and graphic designer working for House Industries in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from the MA in Typeface Design program at the University in Reading, UK.

Ken Barber honed his drawing skills copying Don Martin comics from the pages of his older brother’s Mad magazine collection. After appearing on local television to discuss a winning design entry for his high school art show, Ken pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. In college he started freelancing for Brand Design and became a full-time employee in 1996. Since then, Ken has been involved in everything from illustration to lettering. A number of his typefaces have garnered him awards from the Type Directors Club.
