Words & Pictures: An Evening with Senior Illustration Students
May 14 2013 6:00PM - 11:00PM
CBS Auditorium & Solmssen Court
Honoring the work of graduating Illustration seniors, "Words & Pictures: An Evening with Senior Illustration Students" is presented in partnership with AIGA Philadelphia and features a keynote address by award-winning illustrator Gary Taxali.
This free event is a joining place for Philadelphia's design community and the UArts academic community. We welcome design professionals, alumni and faculty to mix with our seniors and speak to them about their work in a casual atmosphere. Please join us as we begin with the inspiring words of our guest speaker, and move on to a reception featuring food, drink, and most importantly, the portfolios of our soon-to-be graduates.
Taxali's work has appeared in many major magazines and he has exhibited in many galleries and museums throughout North America and Europe, including the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. His work has spanned everything from vinyl toys to a special edition of 25 cent coins for the Canadian Royal Mint for Best Package Design. Last year, Taxali released his first children's book entitled This Is Silly! published by Scholastic Press. This past fall saw the release of his monographs entitled I Love You, OK? published by teNeues in Germany and Mono Taxali published by 27_9 in Italy.
