Sophomore Photography: Recent Work
May 3—May 17 2013
Sol Mednick Gallery + Gallery 1401
This annual student exhibition features recent work from sophomore Photography majors at the University of the Arts. The Photography program has a variety of courses in the sophomore year that stress a wide range of photographic expression. Basic camera handling, advanced black and white darkroom techniques, color-printing materials and training in digital photography are all included in the sophomore curriculum. This exhibition is wide ranging in subject matter, various photographic techniques and aesthetic concerns.
In conjunction with the sophomore show, the junior Photography class will be exhibiting work in the hallways surrounding the Sol Mednick Gallery.
An opening reception for the sophomore and junior shows will be held in both galleries on Friday, May 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. Immediately following the opening will be the reception for "Envisage," the senior Photography show, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Hall. "Envisage" is on view April 25 – May 9.
