Paradigm Lecture Series: Photographer Phil Jackson

CBS Auditorium

Alum Phil Jackson BFA '08 (Photography) will speak as part of the Paradigm Lecture Series, presented by the Photography program.

Phil Jackson is a Brooklyn-based traveling skateboarder and photographer whose work has been exhibited, published and collected internationally. An active traveler, he spends several weeks per year on self-directed road trips with friends, criss-crossing the country in search of new terrain, and this is where he makes most of his work.

His photographs can be found in the West Collection, his zines in the Indie Photobook Library, and he is an active member of the Film Por Vida Print Exchange Program collective.

Most recently, he completed working as the photo editor of a 170-page photo book titled FDR Skatepark: A Visual History. Comprised of submissions from over 25 photographers – himself included – and spanning the park's 15+ year history, the book was published by Schiffer in July 2012. He will be speaking about the trials and tribulations of the collaborative book-making process, with a book signing to follow.
