Passport to World Cinema Series: The Fifth Season

Levitt Auditorium

Presented by the School of Film and the Philadelphia Film Society, the "Passport to World Cinema" monthly film series features the past year's strongest cinema from around the globe. Each of the screenings – shown on 35mm film – will include a notable international film title from the recent film festival circuit and a post-screening talkback led by a local film connoisseur.

This month features "The Fifth Season" by Belgian directors Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth ("Khadak," "Antiplano"), true visionaries of surrealistic cinema, who tell a bleak and beautiful tale of a small village where spring refuses to come, halting the harvest at a standstill and creating chaos among the residents.
