Diane Pepe: Bound

Phoenix Gallery

"Column III" (above), a wood, stone and brass sculpture by Associate Professor of Art Diane Pepe, is included in this juried group exhibit presented by the Women's Caucus for Art (WCA) and the Phoenix Gallery. "Bound" juror Cora Rosevear, associate curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, chose 24 works and one performance piece to be displayed in the gallery (and an additional 118 works that will be displayed in the exhibition catalog only).

"Bound" represents multiple expressions of commentary on the interpretation of bound. This exhibition explores the concepts of bound and borders – be they internal, external, constructed, imagined, imposed, or embraced and how boundaries define and shape our identities, relationships, ideas and politics. This exhibition furthers the mission of the WCA, which is to create community through art, education and social activism.

Reception: February 16, 6 – 9 p.m.
