Artist As A Filmmaker Series: Vagabond
Nov 14 2012 7:30PM - 9:30PM
Levitt Auditorium

Presented by UArts and the Philadelphia Film Society, the "Artist As A Filmmaker" monthly film series highlights world-renowned directors who transitioned their careers from visual artistry to filmmaking.
This month features "Vagabond" directed by Agnes Varda, who pieces together the story of Mona – a defiant young drifter found frozen to death in a ditch at the beginning of the film – through flashbacks told by those who encountered her. With its sparse, poetic imagery, "Vagabond" (Sans toit ni loi) is a stunner that won Varda the top prize at the Venice Film Festival.
Tickets are only available the day of the show at the door, with a general admission fare of $5.00. Complimentary access is granted to Philadelphia Film Society members as well as University of the Arts students and faculty (with proper identification).
