Visiting Writers Series: Tomás Q. Morín
Feb 6 2014 7:00PM - 8:00PM
Created in connection with the University’s recently launched Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, the new Visiting Writers Series features six acclaimed contemporary writers visiting the UArts campus each year. These distinguished poets, novelists and short story writers will give readings – all of which are free and open to the public – and meet with students in the Creative Writing major to discuss issues of craft and the writing life.
This reading is co-sponsored by The American Poetry Review.
Tomás Q. Morín is the author of A Larger Country, winner of the 2012 APR/Honickman Prize and runner-up for the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award. He is co-editor, with Mari L’Esperance, of the anthology Coming Close: 40 Essays on Philip Levine. His poems have appeared in Slate, Threepenny Review, Boulevard, New England Review, Poetry and Narrative.
