To Sit Rather Than Slip In: Erica Prince

Vox Populi

“To Sit Rather Than Slip In” is Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Lecturer Erica Prince’s first member exhibition at Vox Populi.

A female protagonist has designed all the essential aspects of her life: minimal prototypes with subtly suggested uses in the realms of spirituality, sexuality, self-reflection and beauty. In this exhibition, Prince continues to postulate the possibilities of the future, but the focus has shifted from architecture to objects of a more domestic and personal nature. The circle re-appears throughout the exhibition, a reminder of the self and the universe in various states of wholeness, balance and understanding.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Prince will host an event entitled “Some Sense of Comfort with Some Sense of Confusion,” featuring a guided meditation and talk by Michael Carroll, followed by a reading and re-imagining of Anias Nin’s “Delta of Venus” by Melissa Daum. This event will take place in AUX on February 23, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Opening: February 7
