Katherine Bussard, the Peter C. Bunnell Curator of Photography at the Princeton University Art Museum, will speak as part of the Paradigm Lecture Series, presented by the Photography program.
Brussard is the former associate curator of photography at the Art Institute of Chicago and is only the second person, following Joel Smith, to hold the endowed curatorship at Princeton. She earned a BA from Smith College, an MA from Williams College and a PhD from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, where she wrote her dissertation on street photography.
She has curated more than 20 exhibitions, including “Film and Photo in New York” (2012) and “Souvenirs of the Barbizon: Photographs, Paintings and Works on Paper” (2011), and she is currently working on “The City Dynamic: Representing Crisis and Renewal in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles 1960–1980,” which explores the intersection of photography, architecture and urban studies.Terra Hall
