Film Screening + Q&A: Nostalgia

Connelly Lecture Hall

The School of Film and the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts present “Nostalgia,” an award-winning short film created by UArts alumni Johnnie Hobbs, III BFA ’04 (Theater), Jason Messina BFA ’05 (Film & Video) and Thad Reid BFA ’07 (Film & Video), and Brind School faculty member Johnnie Hobbs, Jr.

A Q&A with the artists will follow the screening.

The film tells the story of Mr. Gabe Robinson, a living legend, as he struggles to hold onto his music and his muse, wife Helen Robinson, despite the fervent opposition and resentment of his loving son, Gabe, Jr. Punctuated by vivid musical memories, the aging tap dancer recalls the glorious and regretful life he once lived both on stage and off, with a message not about dreams deferred, but dreams derailed.
