Quay Brothers Film Premiere and Q&A

Arts Bank Theater

Renowned experimental stop-motion animators and UArts alumni Timothy Quay BFA '69 (Illustration) and Stephen Quay BFA '69 (Film), better known as the Quay Brothers, return to the University of the Arts to premiere their new film "[UN]MISTAKEN HANDS: EX-VOTO F. H." The evening will kick off in the Arts Bank Theater at 6 p.m. with a screening of the Quays' adaptation of Stanislaw Lem's "Maska," followed by the premiere of their new film and ending with a Q&A with the Quays. The event is free and open to the public, and the UArts community is encouraged to attend.

"[UN]MISTAKEN HANDS: EX-VOTO F. H." revolves around the work and life of Uruguayan pianist and writer Felisberto Hernández, who is often referred to as "the father of magic realism” and with whose work the Quay Brothers share an affinity.
