Passport to World Cinema Series: Watchtower

Presented by the School of Film and the Philadelphia Film Society (PFS), the "Passport to World Cinema" monthly film series features the past year's strongest cinema from around the globe. Each of the screenings – shown on 35mm film – will include a notable international film title from the recent film festival circuit and a post-screening talkback led by a local film connoisseur.

This month features "Watchtower," a film from Turkey/France/Germany written and directed by Pelin Esmer. A man and a woman seeking refuge from the world: Nihat at a remote forest fire tower, Seher in her room at a rural bus station. Hiding away from others and fighting their battle of conscience alone, they get caught by each other. Once their lives collide, they have to fight the battle before each other.

Screenings are $5 for the general public and free to both University of the Arts ID holders and PFS members.
