Telling Details: Daniel Gerwin
Jun 6—Jul 26 2013
Center for Emerging Visual Artists
This exhibition features work by Fine Arts Lecturer Daniel Gerwin and artists James Hannaham and Efrat Kedem. Curated by Jen Mergel, Beal Family senior curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Among the hundreds of submissions reviewed and finalists considered, the works of Gerwin, Hannaham and Kedem stood out for their declarative attention to nuanced details. Though their strategies vary between lush painting, conceptual parody and small gestures with ready-mades, they share unexpected affinities. Each artist deserves notice for how they approach the under-noticed and imbue it with a distinctive psychology, wit, or character that speaks beyond words.
