All in the Family
Jun 14—Jun 28 2013
Curated by Michele Kishita BFA '97 (Painting) MFA '10 (Painting), "All in the Family" features the work of retired University of the Arts painting professor David Kettner and alumni from the classes of 1997 and 1998. The works are artistic conversations between the artists and their loved ones, expressing the exuberance that children evoke as well as the marks and objects they make. "All in the Family" is a tribute to Professor Emeritus Kettner, a brilliant and inspirational teacher, and a celebration of the time the participating artists spent together as undergraduates and their lives 15 years after graduation.
The exhibition includes collaborations from Kettner with Susan (Shubert) Kettner BFA '79 (Painting), Emily Kettner BFA '11 (Painting) and William Kettner; Karen (Wolfe) Ciancitto BFA '97 (Painting) with Ruby Ciancitto; Sara Gallo BFA '97 (Painting) with Ivan Staniunas; John Gritti BFA '97 (Painting) with Jack Gritti; Andy Johnson BFA '97 (Painting) with Eleanor Johnson; Michele (Tyger) Kishita BFA '97 (Painting) with Massimo Alessi; Marc Manning BFA '97 (Printmaking/Book Arts) with Haley DerManouelian; and Nick Ruscetta BFA '97 (Sculpture) with Edie Ruscetta.
