Alumni and Parent Relations recently renovated its office space to include gallery space that celebrates the accomplishments of our alumni. The alumni gallery lets the students, staff, faculty and fellow alumni who visit the office appreciate the work of UArts graduates. The gallery is curated by a UArts student on a semi-annual basis, around a theme of their choosing. Alumni of all years, degrees and programs are invited to submit their work.
The theme for the current exhibition is "The Face of UArts," curated by Kaylyn Gray BFA '13 (Multidisciplinary Fine Arts). "The Face of UArts" includes work that are interpretations of the self-portrait. The work portrays how attending UArts has expanded the horizons of thought and technique, while showing the faces of the alumni that had previously roamed the halls and buildings of UArts.
Alumni Small Businesses
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations seeks to support the endeavors of our talented alumni. This year, national Small Business Saturday is on November 30. Let us know if you are the owner of a small business. It can be a bricks and mortar shop, it can be an Etsy shop or a personal website. It can be anywhere in the world, selling something related to your art discipline or not at all. We would be happy to include you in a new listing of alumni-owned businesses in time for the holidays.
The iMentor Program, developed by the Mentoring Committee of the Alumni Council, launched the fall of 2012 and is looking for alumni volunteers to share their time with UArts students. In this first year, the iMentor program will serve students enrolled in the Academic Achievement Program (AAP). If you are interested in volunteering as an iMentor, please complete this form.
