Alumni Council Committees

The Alumni Council comprises three committees focusing on University priorities:

The Admissions Committee develops pathways and opportunities for alumni to work with the Office of Admissions to assist in the student recruitment process. Examples of the committee’s activities include:

  • Representing UArts at college fairs, on-campus Open Houses and National Portfolio Days
  • Making phone calls to congratulate accepted students
  • Hosting regional recruitment receptions for prospective students and parents
  • Organizing New Student Send-Off events to welcome incoming freshman to UArts

The Engagement Committee suggests opportunities for alumni to be engaged with each other, current students and the University as a whole. Examples of this committee’s projects include:

  • Developing communications strategies that enhance alumni/current student knowledge and understanding of the Association's programs, missions and goals
  • Planning events for students and alumni
  • Encouraging student philanthropy
  • Representing the Alumni Association at University events

The Mentoring Committee strengthens opportunities for alumni and current students to interact with alumni for the purposes of enhancing their personal, professional and artistic development. Examples of the committee’s activities include:

  • Developing an iMentor program for freshman students in the Academic Achievement program
  • Producing a blog with professional development content for students and Young Alumni
