The University of the Arts is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The College of Art and Design is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and Industrial Designer’s Society of America. Facilities
The UArts campus is located in Center City Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts cultural district and is comprised of 10 buildings with more than 850,000 square feet. It features dynamic, state-of-the-art facilities that serve as a living laboratory for visual, performing and media and communication arts. The wealth of museums, galleries, concert halls, theaters, fairs and festivals provides opportunities for extending interests into other arts and activities.

Financial Aid
If you want to attend The University of the Arts, we will do our part to help make it financially possible. UArts offers a variety of financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, and employment funded by federal, state, institutional, or private organizations. More than 75 percent of the University’s students enrolled on a full-time basis are eligible for some type of need-based aid.
Scholarships
The University awards scholarships based on talent, merit and financial need. In 2008, UArts provided nearly $8 million in scholarships and grants to new students alone. Roughly one third of this amount went to those demonstrating financial need; the balance was awarded in talent and merit-based scholarships.
Alumni
Many UArts graduates tap into our network of connections - they remain close with faculty and mentors, complete alumni questionnaires, and visit campus. Over 84% of these UArts graduates are working in their fields.

Residence Halls and Dining Facilities
UArts offers four residence halls with studio and apartment-style accommodations, all furnished with bathrooms and kitchen facilities in addition to on-site security and laundry facilities. Resident students receive help from Resident Assistants trained in peer advising, crisis intervention and assisting students in their adjustment to college life in the city. UArts features two campus eateries, the Cantina and the Cantina Express.
Career Services
The Career Services Office assists students and alumni by providing comprehensive services and individual counseling tailored to their specific needs including: career counseling; assistance in resume writing, interview techniques, and job search skills; Career Resource Library and industry publications/periodicals; Career Connections monthly newsletter; job listings; information on fellowships, grants, and contests; Annual Job Fair; and graduate school information.
Libraries & Academic Enrichment
The Albert M. Greenfield Library houses 152,067 bound volumes, 6,936 CDs, 14,901 periodicals, 16,820 scores and 1965 videos and DVDs; The Music Library collection holds approximately 20,000 scores, 15,000 books, 10,000 LP discs, and 5,000 CDs; Visual resources collection includes 175,000 slides. Academic Support Services & Academic Achievement Program (AAP)/ACT 101
Academic Support Services are available to all students as a supplement to their classroom instruction. Tutors help students develop skills in reading, writing, and other academic and studio areas, including successful classroom strategies and improvement of study habits. The Academic Achievement Program (AAP)/ACT 101 is part of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, implemented to provide developmental maintenance and transition services to students who need preparation in arts and academics.
International Programs
UArts welcomes students from abroad and has developed a range of services to assist them, including English-as-a-second-language support, tutorial assistance, immigration service advisement and orientation. Our International Student Advisor assists students in taking full advantage of resources from Residential Life, Admissions and Student Services.

Galleries
UArts has 10 galleries, which feature rotating displays in a variety of media by emerging artists,students, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as nationally and internationally recognized artists. Recent exhibitions include: Vito Acconci, Rosalyn Drexler, April Gornik, Alex Grey, James Hyde, Jon Kessler, Donald Lipski, Robert Motherwell, Stuart Netsky, Irving Penn, Jack Pierson, Anne and Patrick Poirer, Yvonne Rainer and Andy Warhol. Gallery One is Philadelphia’s only student-run art gallery and one of just a handful in the country. Exhibitions in the gallery range from strange to sweet and are always innovative and unique.
