Division of Liberal Arts

A Meeting Place for Ideas
Liberal Arts is a forum for all students to participate in artistic and academic exchanges. The multitude of perspectives taught by faculty are invaluable as you expand and refine your own views.

International

Committed to preparing you to practice in the global economy, Liberal Arts faculty teach you with an international perspective. Many have traveled extensively, taught at universities in Hong Kong and other countries, and explored the cultures of Germany, Africa and Argentina during sabbaticals.

Multi-disciplinary

Many faculty are also accomplished creative individuals in multiple fields—a folklorist who is also a cellist, a Ph.D. who doubles as a theater critic, and others who are experts in both scholarly and practical perspectives.

Accomplished

Faculty include published authors, a Fulbright scholar, a Rockefeller and Guggenheim Fellow, an expert on women artists, and several poets, including the founder of the American Poetry Review.
