The UArts Pre-College Summer Institute attracts students from around the world. Rising juniors and seniors in high school are welcome to apply to the Music program.

Application Requirements
Music Program
- Application form
- $50 nonrefundable application fee
- One-page typed personal essay expressing why you want to attend the program
- A short video or audio recording of yourself performing two pieces (no more than 5 minutes each) in one of the following genres: blues, jazz, Latin, pop, R&B or rock. Please include an introduction stating your name and the titles of the pieces you are performing. (See below for specifics)
*We are happy to advise you about your application materials. If you are concerned that your audition or application materials are not fully developed, please contact our office to discuss with a Pre-College staff member.
Music Audition Requirements
Applicants must submit an audition of the applicant only. Submissions can be sent on DVD, CD or via website such as YouYube. The recording must include the following:
- An introduction stating student's name and which pieces follow
- A performance of two pieces in one of the following genres: blues, jazz, latin, pop, R&B or rock

Prior to the start of the program, a list of any supplies or necessary items you should bring will be available on our website.
Refund Policy
Students who are dismissed from the program will not be refunded any tuition, housing or fees. Students who wish to withdraw for any reason must submit their request in writing by fax, email or post. All refunds are less nonrefundable application and registration fees, and are calculated as follows:
— 100% refund on tuition less the nonrefundable application and registration fees for withdrawal one month prior to the first class. (Written withdrawal must be received on or before before June 7, 2013.)
— 80% refund on tuition less the nonrefundable application and registration fees for withdrawal between three and one week(s) prior to the first class. (Written withdrawal must be received between June 8, 2013 and June 30, 2013).
— No refunds will be issued if withdrawal is less than 7 days prior to the first class. (0% refund if withdrawal is received on or after July 1, 2013).
