After UArts : MA in Museum Education

Alumni from the MA in Museum Education program have the theoretical and practical foundation as well as the experience necessary for a professional career in museums and galleries.

Successful grads include UArts Museum Studies faculty member and alumna Ellen Owens MA ’06 (Museum Education), who is executive director of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a folk art environment, gallery space and nonprofit organization that showcases the work of mosaicist Isaiah Zagar.

Other alumni include a teacher at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center in Washington, D.C., who also leads school programs at area museums. Another is the museum educator and communications coordinator at the Wagner Free Institute of Science in Philadelphia.
