Committed to preparing you to practice in the global economy, Liberal Arts faculty teach you with an international perspective. Many have traveled extensively, taught at universities in Hong Kong and other countries, and explored the cultures of Germany, Africa and Argentina during sabbaticals.
Multi-disciplinary
Many faculty are also accomplished creative individuals in multiple fields—a folklorist who is also a cellist, a Ph.D. who doubles as a theater critic, and others who are experts in both scholarly and practical perspectives.
Accomplished
Faculty include published authors, a Fulbright scholar, a Rockefeller and Guggenheim Fellow, an expert on women artists, and several poets, including the founder of the American Poetry Review.
Liberal Arts Philosophy
• We raise your awareness of international, cultural, religious, and political issues.
• We aim to develop your powers of critical thinking and your understanding of the history of the creative arts.
• We introduce you to philosophic and scientific modes of thought, and to the study of human cultures and societies.
• We refine your perceptions of both your inner world and the outer world and help make you both intellectually responsible and creative.
