Internships
The University of the Arts has a wide variety of internship experiences that reinforce and expand classroom theory and practice. These educationally based experiences allow students to explore possible career choices and gain a better understanding of a chosen field through professional growth. Internships are offered to students as credit-worthy, non-credit bearing, paid and unpaid. There are also a multitude of apprenticeship opportunities.
Internships for credit are granted to junior and senior matriculated undergraduate students. Internship courses are scheduled during the fall and spring semesters, as well as during the summer with special permission from a faculty internship adviser, dean/department chair or director. To register for an internship, see the course bulletin and the appropriate department for current offerings.
Students who intend to enroll in summer internships and receive academic credit for the experience must pre-register in the spring for a summer semester. It is the responsibility of students wishing to take summer internships to identify faculty who are willing to support them and are able to supervise their work. Up to three credits of a summer internship may be taken for a minimal tuition charge of $100/credit.
