As you advance, you begin to shape your own individual course of study. Much of your Senior year will be comprised of production projects, independent study, and internships.
What performance management and production opportunities are available?
The School of Theater Arts stages 14-16 shows per year, including a Subscription Series of six shows and a Studio Series of 8 – 10 shows. Recent productions include:
o Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure
o Tony Kushner’s A Bright Room Called Day
o Susan Lori Parks’ Venus
o David Mamet’s Edmond
o And a new musical based on the music of The Kinks: A Rock and Roll Fantasy
You can also ain an international perspective through collaborations with The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in the U.K.
What career opportunities are available to Theater Management and Production majors?
The purpose of the professional training programs at UArts is to train you to pursue any of the following:
o Work in the professional theater
o Pursue advanced or graduate study in theater arts
o Train or direct theater professionals and students
This program is especially well suited to those who may have an interest in advanced or graduate study.
Are faculty working professionals?
Yes. Theater Management and Production students work with faculty who are themselves working professional actors, directors and designers.
Is a minor available?
Yes. You may add a Minor in Musical Theater to your repertoire with additional study in dance and music.
