What performance opportunities are available to Instrumental Performance majors?
While studing for a degree in Instrumental Performance at The University of the Arts, you will perform in UArts School of Music's award-winning jazz ensembles, in a range of musical literatures: from Big Band to Latin Jazz, the music of Charles Mingus to Steely Dan, hand bell choir to vocal jazz, and bebop to bucket drums. Perform with live performers through collaborations with the School of Dance, ProJazz in Santiago, Chile, or the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in the U.K.

How will I be prepared for an instrumental performance career?
Many of our students begin to perform as professional musicians while studying for their degree in Instrumental Performance. Philadelphia offers numerous venues for soloists and small ensembles in concert halls and clubs. 

Are the School of Music faculty professional musicians?
Yes. The School of Music faculty is made up of experienced and practicing professionals, many of whom have attained international stature as performing and recording artists. This professional faculty is supplemented by a  roster of guest artists along with a regular series of workshops, master classes, and performances guests that has included:
