2008 High School Dance Festival

The 9th National High School Dance Festival will be held Thursday, March 13 through Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The Festival is presented by the NHSDF organization, Kathryn Kearns, Executive Director, in conjunction with The University of the Arts and Artists Exchange International.

The four-day Festival will welcome over 1,500 students in grades 9-12 representing 90 high schools; 300 teachers and principals and 100 college recruiters and venders.  

The Festival will feature an opening performance with the Pennsylvania Ballet, Voloshky Ukrainian  Dance Ensemble and Brian Sanders Dance;   two evening Gala concerts, two late afternoon Showcase concerts and two mid-day informal concerts.

The Festival also offers a full day of Scholarship auditions, over 300 Master Classes in subject areas including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theater, salsa, African, Pilates, Massage, Stretch, Injury Prevention, Nutrition and more.

The University of the Arts welcomes the opportunity of bringing the 9th National High School Dance Festival to Philadelphia.
