Discovery Year in the College of Media and Communication
The Discovery Year allows you to learn more about CMAC's majors – Communication, Multimedia, and Writing for Film and Television. During the year, you’re introduced to the skills that are important to media makers – how to design for traditional and new media, how to write, how to produce video stories, and why media affects us in the way it does. At the same time, you also learn more about careers in the fields of media and communication so you’re in a good position to make a choice of major and career.
Like all students in the CMAC, you’ll be involved in the full life of the college, participating in town meetings, joining the college’s extracurricular activities that include working on the college’s web video, web radio, webzine, and print publications, and taking studio courses.
