UArts' BS in Communication is for students who are interested in a career in media related industries - TV, documentary film, web-based applications, advertising, writing and more. UArts Communication degree program provides you with skills that apply to a variety of media. It also introduces you to the theory that will help you understand what works, why and how.

Communication majors select two areas of study while earning their degree:

What extracurricular opportunities are available?
The UArts Communication department sponsors extracurricular opportunities that allow you to experiment on your own or with you classmates:
• Web radio: host your own program.
• Web video: produce your own sitcom, talk show, or news program.
• Schwamag (CMAC's online magazine) or print publications: write about the University community, politics, society or publish your own creative work or nonfiction essays.

How will I be prepared for a career in Media Communications?
The Communciation degree program provides the skills, applications, theory and experience required to succeed in the various fields of media and communication. CMAC Communciation majors have gone on the careers in advertising, video and computer game design, website design and development, journalism, documentary and narrative video production and many other related fiels.

Are faculty members practicing professionally?
Yes. Many of the faculty teach as well as pursue professional work in their respective field of media.
