Book Arts/Printmaking
What are book arts?
Book arts are the creative processes behind visualizing, designing, and making books. Elements such as 3-D and 2-D structure, time and sequence, text and image are considered.
What is printmaking?Printmaking is an artmaking process which results, usually, in multiple impressions of the same image. Using a matrix made from stone, wood, metal or other material, you’ll learn to create and product images and/or text on paper and other surfaces.
Why study book arts and printmaking at UArts? UArts has developed a unique, highly-interdisciplinary program that attracts creative individuals who are interested in more than one art form. Photographers who love to write or designers who can also paint belong in this program. Like UArts itself, the printmaking and book arts courses expose students to a variety of art forms—design, writing, drawing, painting, sculpture.
