What is the philosophy behind the Museum Studies programs?
The Museum Studies programs at UArts provide graduate students with the skills and knowledge necessary to promote and enhance the relationship between museums and the public.

What are the programs comprised of?
As a Museum Studies major, you’ll encounter a rich variety of concepts, experiences, and approaches relevant to today's museum experience. Museum Studies courses include lectures, hands-on studio courses, computer and Web applications specific to museums, visitor studies, seminars, internships, practicums and museum visits.

What programs are available?
• M.A. Museum Communication• M.A. Museum Education• M.F.A. Museum Exhibition, Planning and Design

Students in all three of the Museum Studies degree programs take core courses addressing the character of museums and their audiences, current museum theory and practice.

What careers are available to Museum Studies graduates?
Graduates find career opportunities with a wide range of museums, historic sites, zoos, aquaria, botanic gardens, cultural arts organizations, entertainment venues and professional consultancies.

In what areas do students specialize?
Students specialize in the areas of museum exhibition, museum education, museum administration, development, public relations and marketing, and collections management.
