MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking

What is the philosophy behind the MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking program?
The master's degree in book arts/printmaking is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the book as a point of departure for art-making and personal expression.  The program’s concept of book arts includes:
• Fine-press printing and illustrated texts
• Visual and verbal narratives
• Works that push the idea of a book toward expressions as different as sculpture and multimedia.
