What makes Book Arts and Printmaking at UArts special?
Students will earn a bachelor's degree in printmaking and book arts within the context of an arts university. This context gives students a unique opportunity to draw on other arts, including photography, graphic design, multimedia, crafts, and sculpture.

What image-making processes does the program offer?
• Relief processes
• Etching
• Lithography
• Metal plate
• Screen printing
• Non-silver photographic printmaking.

What do courses focus on?
Courses in book and typographic design stimulate the conceptual integration of word and image and sequence in the development of unique works from book structures to installations.

How will I be prepared for a career in Printmaking and Book Arts?
• You’ll learn what it’s like to exhibit in shows and galleries.
• You’ll benefit from the small size of the program; your close relationship with faculty will give you the opportunity to ask them questions and get advice.
• You’ll learn your way around our extensive studios, including facilities for lithography, screen printing, etching, monotype, digital processes, photographic processes and more.

Are faculty practicing artists?
Absolutely. They’re highly-recognized book artists, conservators and librarians. They’ve showcased their work at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Museum of Modern Art, London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, and Japan’s Gallery Avenue Kobe.   Does UArts offer a master’s program in book arts?
