What are Book Arts?
Book Arts are the creative processes behind visualizing, designing and making books. Elements such as 3-D and 2-D structure, time and sequence, text, and image are considered.
What is Printmaking?Printmaking is an artmaking process that results, usually, in multiple impressions of the same image. Using a matrix made from stone, wood, metal or other material, you'll learn to create and produce images and/or text on paper and other surfaces.
Why study Book Arts and Printmaking at the University of the Arts? The University of the Arts has developed a unique, highly interdisciplinary program that attracts creative individuals who are interested in more than one art form. Photographers who love to write or designers who can also paint belong in this program. Like the University itself, the Printmaking and Book Arts courses expose students to a variety of art forms—design, writing, drawing, painting, sculpture.

Are faculty practicing artists?Absolutely. As highly recognized book artists, printmakers and conservators, they have showcased their work at such places as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Museum of Modern Art, London's Victoria and Albert Museum, and Japan's Gallery Avenue Kobe.
