Vice President for Advancement
The University of the Arts is one of the nation’s only educational institutions offering instruction in all of the art forms, including dance, music, theater, visual arts, film and multimedia, design, writing, and craft. It comprises two colleges – Art, Media & Design and Performing Arts – as well as the Division of Liberal Arts.
UArts seeks nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Advancement. Reporting to the President of the University, the Vice President is principally responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive annual and major gift fundraising strategy, directing the operations of a 12-person department, managing the development activities of the President and Provost as well as the Board, handling a personal portfolio of individual gift prospects and overseeing the University’s communications activities. The Vice President also serves as a member of the President’s Council, the University’s principal leadership group that advises the President on policy and management issues.
Qualified candidates will have several years of demonstrated success in major gift acquisition. Candidates must have the ability and desire to work with wide-ranging constituents. Candidates must have experience leading a successful team. Experience working with volunteer leadership is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal skills, in addition to demonstrated presentation skills required. BA/BS is required.
