Facilities Services
Campus-wide Housekeeping services include:
- Daily cleaning and policing of public areas, restrooms, classrooms, lecture halls, showers, lockers, class studios, shops and labs
- Scheduled carpet and hard-surface floor maintenance
- Pest extermination
- Recycling program management and implementation
- Graffiti removal within 24 hours of report
- Trash removal
- Bulk trash removal (please call our office to schedule removal, do not leave bulk trash in hallways or lobbies)
- Comprehensive Special Event support
- Disaster recovery
- Facilitate furniture moving
- Snow removal
- Grounds policing, maintenance and sidewalk repair
Services not provided by Housekeeping:
- Demolition of student projects
- Craft shop housekeeping
Campus-wide Building Services and Plant Operations services include:
- Operation and maintenance of all building systems, including plumbing, lighting, heating and air conditioning in each campus building
- Elevator operation, service and maintenance
- Operation and maintenance of campus fire alarm systems, including audio and visual alarms and wet and dry sprinkler systems
- Lock repair and key replacement
- Glass repair replacement
- Auditorium seating repair and maintenance
- Maintenance and repair of craft shop ventilation systems
- Maintenance of interior finishes in classrooms, lecture halls, offices, shops, studios, restrooms, public areas and residence halls
- Painting, plastering and wall coverings; painting is limited by resources and size and scope of request; large-scope painting requests may be performed by a contractor and departments may be asked to fund large-scope painting requests
- Signage: the University has a standardized sign program and all signs for public view must be approved by Facilities Management
- Furniture repair and replacement: A furniture standards program is in place and furniture requests beyond the standards will be funded by the requestor
- Appliance repair/replacement in residence halls
- Window treatments (shades and blinds)
Services not funded by Facilities:
- Building or office renovations required to accommodate changes in programs
- Modifications or additions to systems such as electrical service or ventilation as a result of program changes or increased needs
- Window treatment upgrades
