Owned and operated by 12th Street Catering, the University of the Arts Cantina is your on-campus food service facility. 12th Street Catering has been providing award-winning food and quality dining experiences for our patrons in the Philadelphia area since 1982. Specializing in wholesome, nutritious food incorporating the season’s freshest ingredients hand crafted daily, our menu reflects the diverse tastes of the University population.

Our main café, located on the lower level of Hamilton Hall, provides hot and cold menu items along with assorted snacks, beverages and baked goods. 

Our breakfast menu features cooked-to-order egg sandwiches, platters, omelets and pancakes, as well as daily specials like breakfast burritos, French toast and egg casseroles, to name a few. Fresh baked goods, bagels, fresh fruit, juices, yogurt and coffee are also available.

The Cantina's lunch/dinner menu includes made-to-order deli sandwiches and wraps incorporating our house-made chicken, tuna and egg salads, along with our fresh-roasted lunch meats. From our grill, you can choose from such items as steak sandwiches, grilled cheese, hamburgers, and veggie and turkey burgers. Southwest specialties include chicken fajita and taco salads, soft or crispy tacos, and nachos. Our refrigerated case features an array of  freshly prepared salads, as well as a number of side salads to complement any meal. Our daily specials vary from comfort foods such as meatloaf and mashed potatoes to ethnic specialties from around the globe. Hot soups are also available along with a wide range of snack items, beverages, yogurt and fresh fruit.

Located on the second floor of Terra Hall and on the mezzanine level of Anderson Hall, Cantina Express and Cantina Anderson offer students, faculty and staff a quick grab-and-go meal of freshly made pre-wrapped sandwiches, a variety of main and side salads, and an assortment of snacks and beverages.

Meals at the Cantina, Cantina Express and Cantina Anderson can be purchased with cash or FreedomPay, a pre-paid computerized declining-balance card system that is managed by an outside vendor. For safety and security, we recommend that all students obtain a FreedomPay card; unused funds are refundable and usage can be tracked online.
